Orderly book, 1780-1787.

Orderly book kept by Capt. Judah Alden of the 2nd Mass. Infantry Regiment during the Revolutionary War. The records contain copies or orders issued by Alden at Dobb's Ferry and [Hudson] Highlands, N.Y. from 1780-83, primarily pertaining to roll calls, the officer of the day, and other regulations. The records also contain lists of provisions and supplies received, such as knapsacks and canteens, and of clothes washed, copies of a few of Alden's outgoing letters, and lists of men. The vol. also contains Alden's excise accounts (1786-87) and a few poems.
